Strategic Reviews of the iCAN project and the Feile na Tuaithe festival on behalf of the National Museum (NMI) including a review of outputs and outcomes, and identification of development options. This entailed workshops formal presentation of findings to the MNI’s Executive Management Committee.
Project details
- Review of mission statements, aims and objectives, institutional strategic plans, and policies in light of the new NMI Strategic Plan
- Workshops and extensive interviews with staff and stakeholders including National Museum of Ireland Directors, community‐led heritage projects, Heritage Officers in various local authorities, as well as many other stakeholders
- Review of ongoing viability, including the potential cost of full‐time staff, operational expenses, administrative costs, value for money relative to costs incurred, as well as potential funding from the projects from the National Museum of Ireland
- Review of sustainability, i.e. legal and management structure, including whether to run the iCan project and the festival as separate corporate entities, sub‐projects within the Museum of Country Living, as expanded dedicated projects within the wider NMI, or initiatives independent of the museum itself
- Research into, and review of, models of international best practice – identifying the most effective and appropriate models for the iCan Project and the Feile na Tuaithe
- Recommendations regarding management structures, governance, branding, certification, and roll‐out of the iCan project, and future options for the festival.
