Comprehensive review of childcare businesses, including viability, sustainability, HR, governance, as well as actions to be taken to ensure the long-term survival of the services – and, in some cases, the transfer of the business. This has been carried out directly on behalf of Pobal, and in conversation with the Department, in community-based services throughout Ireland. For confidentiality reasons, the specific childcare services will not be named.
Project details
- Extensive review of the operational management of the facility for the past 5 years
- Review of the adequacy of the governance procedures within the facility
- Detailed analysis of the financial performance of the facility
- Comparison with other childcare facilities of a similar size and structure
- Review of pricing policy and cost structure, both capital and operational
- Provision of recommendations regarding potential future viability and sustainability of the facility
- Identifying options for the future provision of the service, e.g. transfer of undertaking, lease, re-structuring, ongoing operations, etc.
- Extensive contact with Pobal throughout the process and, in many cases, the County or City Childcare Committee and existing management committee of the facility
